Hey Everyone!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!! TGIF!!!!! But it looks like it's going to be a stinky weekend weather wise...Oh well, can't win em' all!

So, we are coming one week off of Maria's big win in the figure tall class at the Mid-Atlantic last weekend. I was just looking at her photos of when we first started, and the shoots I have taken her on as she has progressed in her training...Finally, comparing them to her contest photos. The changes she has made have been remarkable to say the least. I remember when I first started training, the drive I had, the determination..... It’s amazing how much motivation can change the human body. You can really do anything you put your mind to. I always tell people when they start training with me that the results they get will directly correlate to how bad they want it, whatever that "it" may be. To lose 10 pounds, to add 5 pounds of muscle, to compete, whatever it may be, it is all in the drive. And excuses? Well, they just don't cut it. Surgeries in the past? Born with a weaker side, something at has an imbalance? Never had good legs? None of that will cut it. All that a weakness or a "handicap" should do is make you train harder. Take another one of my clients for example. She is 64 years old, and has a really bad case of scoliosis, and add to that osteoporosis. I started with her 2 1/2 years ago, and in the time we have worked together, she has had a 7% increase in her bone density. 7%! The doctors said that is almost unheard of. How? 3 days a week of weight training, and not using the excuse that she is 64. She is now considered "pre-osteoporosis" and is off of her medication. And her scoliosis? Well, her doctors said they have never seen such an improvement in posture without surgery. All from weight training. My newest client that I am so proud of.....well, she started working out with me about 3 months ago for her wedding at the end of June. She said she wanted to motivate herself to lose weight so she bought her wedding dress 2 sizes to small, much to the dismay of the bridal store, which wanted her to buy 2 sizes to big...."just in case"....so here we are 3 months later and guess what? She has lost about 20 pounds, and in her chest/back measurements alone has lost 2 1/2 inches. How? Listening to me about her diet and giving me 110% effort in the gym every morning, whether or not she is feeling 100%.

That, my friend, is MOTIVATION!!!!!!!!!!

Go look at the pictures at the heading if this blog, 1,2,3, and 4 in chronological order. That is what motivation can look like. That is what Maria did in the last year and a half with me.

So take from it. Learn from it. Use it. And go out there and get what you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO
Heather Lee
