Hey Everyone~

HAPPY TUESDAY!!!! I am sitting here eating a turkey sandwich. BoarsHead Brand meat, of course!!! Lettuce, tomato, and light mayo on an 8 grain roll. I am enjoying the fact that I get to eat bread for another 4 weeks till my contest prep starts for the Nationals. And I know me all too well...I will be counting the days till I get the trusty old starches again! LOL!

Speaking of Atlanta....I ordered my suits for the Nat's yesterday. I am looking forward to seeing the fabric swatched next week~they sound so cool! Colors I know I look good in. I am seeking sponsorship for the Nationals this year, and so far I am looking for someone to sponsor my suits.
The prejudging suit was $80.00 dollars, and the suit for the finals was $250.00. For your sponsership you will recieve a free year membership to my site, a series of 8x10 and 4x6 photos, and a thank you note from me!!! Also, partial sponsorships of any amount are also welcome!! Every penny counts! And they will be rewarded with a thank you, a photo, and a free membership for a duration of time! Email me at

Also, for you members, we should have some new video coming to the site tonight!! Be sure to check back late tonight for the updates!!!

Bianca has been kicking her own a** in the gym~she is so motivated to get herself back to pre-boob surgery shape! LOL!! You should see her in the gym~she is a regular maniac!! I swear, you would actually think she was going somewhere the way she is moving on the cardio!!! ;~) I am too damn funny!!! And Elena leaves tomorrow for Vegas. I am sooo excited for her, but I think I have said enough about that these last few entries!!! I need not go on~you all know how I feel by now! ;~)

I have recruited some new talent for my Girlfriends Section!!! The very beautiful and muscular Melissa Dettwiller...who will also be competing in the LHW class this weekend in Vegas. Hey Everyone!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend....
One week from today I will be back from Vegas, and Elena will be a new champ!!! I am confident she is taking the Light Heavy Weight class...And I think she has a FANTASTIC shot at taking the overall....I have to see who is coming in as a Heavyweight....I know Heather Policky is doing it, and from what I have heard, she has dialed it in this year. I always loved her physique~if she nails it, she has the potential to take the class....It could be a showdown between her and Elena, LOL!! Do I have my tarot cards out today or what!?!?!

Anyway, I had a great weekend~a lot of fun....
Friday night I trained~CRIPPLED myself on legs~45 minutes on and out~and I could hardly walk out of the gym, LOL!!! Then we just hung out and watched TV. I am hooked on BattleStar Galactica....I am not a huge Sci-Fi person, but I really like that show. Saturday trained Chest ans Bi's, once again crippling myself. I couldn't even straighten out my arms until this morning... I swear I added an inch to my arms in that workout! LOL! (or maybe its wishful thinking!! HAH!) Then Elena came down. She is one week out~and we needed to go and do some girl-stuff. Shopping...Lots of new MAC makeup, shoes, jewelery!!! All that good stuff!!! We had a blast. We haven't been able to hang much lately with her dieting~but we will have all of August before I start dieting for the Nationals! Then she took me out to eat for my birthday~but she was a good girl and stuck to her diet. She is so odd~she takes such pleasure out of watching other people eat when she is dieting. Not me, I am the exact opposite. I will end up in tears over the mere smell of tasty food after a few weeks dieting. There you go, opposites attract. Hence me and Elena!!!

Then Sunday I trained~actually just did cardio. I was supposed to do Shoulders and Tri's but since I could hardly move my arms, I decided to hold off. Actually I had no choice!! LOL! But one hour of cardio plus abs was good for me. (Tonight I will do what I was supposed to do yesterday. ) After the gym we took a ride to this flea-market by me~I haven't been there in years, but when I was young, it was THE place to go. Well it was so funny~It was like stepping into a time machine back to the 80's. I saw this Bon Jovi button~one of the same ones I had when I was younger~so funny! I had to buy it!!! It is actually on my purse now. For those of you who don't know, I am a HUUUGE Bon Jovi fan~and Bruce Springsteen~and anything 80's. I swear I am stuch in a musical time warp. Well, not really cause I like lots of music, but I LOVE the 80's!!! So then we took a ride down towards the beach and went to my favorite Mexican Place with the worlds best margaritas!!! That is where I am taking Elena the week we get back...and then on the way home, it was an 80's jam-fest in my car. I have that XM radio and channel 8 is the 80's station!!! It was so funny! I was wailing tunes the entire time...Bon Jovi, Bruce, Motley Crue...some songs Obsession, Easy Lover(Phil Collins)...some White Snake, Bangles, Till Tuesday.....and so many old songs I can't even remember the names of...But you get the idea!

I got home and watched this special on the Discovery Channel on the Titanic~it was 3 hours long, but it was all new pics of the Titanic they just got on an exploration down to it. Simply amazing. I have read so many books on that~it was an awesome show!! To see the way it is still preserved is just incredible.

And there you go! That is my weekend for you! Now I have to run and make dinner, but I leave you guys with the pic of the day of me and Elena on Saturday night. :~) Enjoy!

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO

Thursday, July 21, 2005

Hey Everyone~Happy Thursday!!! It is almost the weekend!!!

My birthday was wonderful!!! I trained one of my clients~my pride and joy~Linda~early in the day. She got me an awesome case of wine!! Me and my friends will be sure to put that one to good use! LOL!!! She is always so thoughtful!!!

Then I spent the rest of the daytime part of it with Bianca~(everyone else works during the day). We went to TGIF...I was dying for the Jack Daniels Strips! I love them!! And of course a margarita!! I actually got carded, LOL! That hasn't happened in awhile! Then of course, they all had to embarrass me and do that Happy Birthday Song they do at Fridays!! I was like beet red when I saw them walking over with the ice cream and 10 other servers! LOL! Then we went for a manicure and a pedicure! I had so many broken nails, I swear sometimes I wonder why I even bother! I abuse my nails so bad with training~they are so hard to keep nice... Oh well, makes me feel pretty!

Then when I got home I had sooo many gifts!! I walked in and it looked like Christmas!!! I got a beautiful arrangement of Sunflowers from my Dad and Stepmom....absolutely gorgeous!!! My husband got me a gift certificate to Nordstroms and a beautiful giftset of the perfume and all the other lotions, etc. of Rockin' Rio by Escada....it is very summery! And so me!!!! I got another bottle of perfume and a M.A.C. Makeup gift certificate from Marta and Robbie, and Bianca got me a Beautiful BCBG purse(pink of course!) and an awesome pair of BCBG shoes~pink leopard and beige!! They are sooo cute~but my fat feet don't fit into them, LOL!!! So I will have to go and see if I can get a bigger size! LOL!

4 of us went to dinner to this awesome Portugese Resturant by m=y house...It was really good! Then I came home and had cake..Icecream cake! Yummy!!!! :~)So it was an awesome day!

I wish ELENA wasn't dieting so she could have indulged with me...but 1 1/2 weeks and we can have some belated B-Day drinks to celebrate her victory at the USA's! It will have a dual purpose! :~)

Well all, I have to run!
I leave you with some pics from my B-Day! Enjoy!

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO
Heather Lee

Happy Birthday to me, lalalala!!!

Hey Everyone~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO....MEEEEEEE,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
(In a slightly off key singing voice)!!!

Yes folks, that's right! 27 years ago this morning at 7:06 a.m. I graced this world with my presence! LOL!!! (Hey, if there is one day a year I can get away with that, today is the day!!!) :~)

I wanted to drop in and THANK YOU ALL!!! I woke up this morning to over 30 emails in my inbox wishing me a Happy Birthday!!! You guys rock!!!!!!

I wanted to let you all know that I will be appearing on the FTV WEBCAM on Sunday the 31st at 11:00 a.m.....It will be a chat and I will be taking your requests to flex and pose so be sure to check it out! Maybe this will be a trial for a longer running webcam schedule!! We shall see...

I have 11 hours of photoshoots lined up with some really awesome photographers. Very exciting!!! I like working with new people or people I haven't shot with in awhile~It is nice to get a different perspective on pics. Should be fun!

Bianca is tagging along with me & guess what??? She is shooting too!!! We are going to have a great time! We leave on Friday morning and come home late Sunday night~on the red-eye! Ugh! I hate that flight! You never quite feel right after flying all night!

Elena is READY!!!! She is THE BEST EVER!!!!!! She is rock hard, dry and all her weaknesses have come up dramatically!! She is going to lay down some WHOOP ASS onstage, LOL!!!!! Did you ever see the movie Pumping Iron? Well for those who have, remember what Arnold did to Lou Ferrigno? He totally upstaged him...Her stage presence is what is going to give her that extra edge!! Ever see Elena pose? The confidence she displays is so evident...her skill and level of grace is just amazing!!! I can't wait to have celebration margaritas with her after the show!!!

My training is getting back to normal. I apologize for the lack of training entries here~that will be back shortly... My weight is down a bit, but I really don't mind that in the summer~ Makes it a little easier to find cute clothes! LOL!! I was shopping yesterday and let me tell you....having big legs and a small waist makes it impossible to find pants. They are all super tight in the legs and huge on the waist. And jean skirts...well forget it. If you have any ass at all, they swoop out at the bottom~so stupid. I swear they cut clothes for twigs!!! Unless it has lycra in it, it never fits right!!! Speaking of clothes, Elena is coming down on Saturday to raid my photoshoot bin....I have sooooo much stuff, so many outfits!! If any of you are interested in purchasing something that you don't see in my store but see in some of my pictures, just shoot me and email! Everything (mostly) you see in the galleries are available to buy!

Well all, I have to run for now!! Time to go and enjoy my BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I leave you with the pic of the day! Me on my birthday last year! LOL!

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!

Hey Everyone~

Just wanted to drop in and say HI!!! Hope you are all having a great weekend!!! I just booked my trip to Las Vegas for the USA's to go see Elena compete...Bianca will also be going with me! I am telling you people, it is Elena's year...just wait till you see her onstage!

Anyway, I am looking to set up some paying shoots (Friday 'till Sunday night) while I am out there to start putting some money away for the Nationals. Thats right...I am going to be getting my butt up onstage in November, hopefully as a middleweight. If its as a Lightheavyweight, so be it. But my best package will be strutting its stuff! :~) LOL!!! I am in offseason shape right now, but if you look at the pics to the right, those were taken only a week and a half ago, so you can see I am still in shape.

So, have a great weekend, and drop me an email if you want to shoot!

'Till next time,

Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO

Friday, July 15, 2005

Hey Everyone....

I know I was here earlier, but I wanted to drop in again to make an announcement....

I WILL BE COMPETING AT THE 2005 NATIONALS IN ATLANTA....IN BODYBUILDING!!! WHAT CLASS??? IDEALLY I WOULD LIKE TO COMPETE AS A M.W. BUT IF MY BEST PACKAGE COMES AS A L.H.W. SO BE IT.

I know, I know, the change of heart, the time for a change....all of that. I meant every last word I said. The situation in the pro ranks makes me very very sad. I want to downsize myself, and I still want to compete. This is the road I am at now & I will cross all other roads when I get there....that being after November.

So if you haven't seen my post from earlier today, be sure to check it out....but for now I say goodnight to you all!

And I leave you with my favorite contest shot of me at the 2003 USA's~128 pounds and shredded!!! I will one-up that in November!!!

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO
Heather Lee

2005 NPC USAs Previewby Hans

July 13, 2005 -

The 2005 USA is shaping up to be a hot show – and not just because it’s taking place in Las Vegas in July. With a pro card up for grabs for the overall winner, it looks like there are going to be a lot of the top female bodybuilders in the US onstage. Rumors have been swirling around about how the judging will go after the judges at Junior Nationals last month seemed to reward femininity over hardness. We aren’t going to even try to predict winners, but here are some of the leading contenders in each class:

Lightweights
We only know of a few lightweights doing the USA. One is 36 year-old Pam Shealy of South Carolina, who has been competing for a decade, improving steadily, and was runner-up in the class last year. Also Deborah Barnes will be stepping on stage with Pam. Barnes is a veteran competitor with nice muscle maturity and thickness and should be in the top of class.

Middleweights
A lot of people are excited to see how 20 year-old phenom Britt Miller of North Carolina compares to the top middleweights in the US. Britt placed second in the middleweights at
Junior Nationals last year at just 19 years-old, and has made big improvements since then. “I have bumped up my physique to the next level,” she says. It’s amazing for Britt to even be doing this show at her age, but we think she’ll place very high. “I have to shoot for hardness and dryness being that I do not have the mature muscle that many of my female competitors have,” she says. “I feel that if I bring my best package to the stage, what can be overlooked, right?” (Britt is also doing the Collegiate Nationals in Pittsburgh a week before the USA.)

Other contenders in the middleweights will be Tracy Mason, the runner-up to Shannon Young at Junior Nationals this year; and Nancy Simms of Las Vegas, who is prepped by long-time national-level competitor Michelle Ivers.

Also look out for Tina Chandler, who won the overall at the NPC Lone Star in Texas last month. “She’s going to kick ass!” says Colette Nelson, who saw her at the show and was impressed. “She was the total package. Her conditioning was perfect - hard, but not too freaky.”

Light-heavyweights
The light-heavyweight class in Vegas is going to be insane. If you thought it was awesome at the
Nationals last year, the line-up for the USA could be, if anything, even better, with some very interesting comparisons between women that have never been on the same stage together before. The cool thing is, a lot of them are great friends and have been supporting and motivating each other through their contest prep.

The hot favorite will be the woman who placed second at Nationals behind Cindy Gonzalez, Elena Seiple. At that show, Elena planned to compete as a middleweight but didn’t make weight, so at 5-foot-4 and 127 pounds she was the lightest in the class – not that she looked it onstage. This time she’ll be a light-heavy – no question. Anyone that’s spoken to her or followed her journal in the six months since Dallas knows that she’s been extremely focused and training intensely, and from the pictures we’ve seen, she’s made some big improvements, especially in her legs. She’s being prepped by Justin Harris of Troponin Nutrition, the same guy that took Alicia St. Germaine to a light-heavyweight win at Junior Nationals last month.

Christine Sabo of Arizona, who was the runner-up in this class at the USA last year behind overall winner Carri Ledford, has been keeping a low profile in the run-up to this show. But she’s been working extremely hard all year in the gym, focusing on thickening her back, and anyone who saw how she came out of nowhere to win Junior Nationals last year knows not to underestimate her. Debbie Bramwell, who placed third in the light-heavies last year and sixth at Nationals will also be back, and with her awesome thickness, she’s always a threat.

Since placing second (behind Christine Sabo) at Junior Nationals last year,25 year-old Amanda Dunbar of Fort Myers, Fla., has added overall size and thickness to her physique while keeping her 24-inch waist. She’s made no secret of the fact that she plans to come in as shredded as she can this time – with the help of 2004’s “most peeled” competitor Robin Parker. This show will also be the first time that Amanda will be competing alongside the woman that inspired her to start bodybuilding, her former gymnastics coach Beverly DiRenzo. Bev last competed at Nationals in Miami in 2003, where she placed fourth in the middleweights. She’ll be prepped by Chad Nicholls again, so expect her to be shredded as well.

An extremely interesting addition to the class will be Isabelle Turell, who made her national level debut in Dallas at 170 pounds and placed ninth in the heavyweights, and is now dropping down a class. Isabelle has been busy opening a new gym in Orlando alongside prepping for this show, and promises to come in in the kind of condition she was in at the Excalibur in 2003. If she dials it in, she should be top five. [Editor's note: Isabelle has had to pull out of the USAs according to Bill Dobbins.]

Nicole Berg of Washington state, who won the Emerald Cup and Contra Costa in 2004, will be making her national-level debut in Vegas after going to watch the show the past few years. Nicole has spent the last year training with Gerri Deach (see below), focusing on adding size and thickness to her physique to bring it up to national level standards, while struggling with a few minor injuries. “I have no idea what they will be looking for this year,” she says. “I'm just concentrating on getting my conditioning where it needs to be.”

And the list of light-heavyweights goes on and on: Melissa Dettwiller, who placed an impressive second in the light-heavyweights at Junior Nationals; Star Blaylock, who made an impressive national level debut in Dallas last November, placing 10th; Holly Geersen of Colorado; and California’s Angie Salvagno.

Heavyweights
The big news in the heavyweight class is that Heather Policky is back. Heather hasn’t competed since placing fifth in this show exactly two years ago, and she will be making her long-awaited return to competition in Vegas a week after her 28th birthday. “I have always said that Heather has a pro card waiting on her when she finally dials it all in,” Gina Davis says. “I saw some pics of her at around 10 weeks out and the girl seems to be getting it right this time.”
She will have to get it right, because she’ll be up against Sherry Smith, who won the heavyweight class at the USA last year but lost the overall to the light-heavyweight winner, her best friend Carri Ledford. The word from Oklahoma City is that Sherry is looking good. Gina Davis, who won the heavyweight class at last year’s Nationals, saw her recently and was impressed. “She was very lean for as far out as she was, so I expect that she will come in pretty hard and conditioned at the show,” Gina says.

Gerri Deach, who was 4th last year, will be doing the Masters in Pittsburgh the week before the USA as well. She’s spent the last 12 months focusing on bringing up her upper body more while keeping her balance, and she says she’s improved her shoulders and her upper body density. “I feel like I've worked hard this past year, and truly hope to improve my placing over last year. I guess the judges will let me know if they feel I have truly improved!”

Meanwhile Anne Sheehan of New Jersey says she’s added five pounds of muscle mass since placing fifth in this show last year, and plans to come in at around 155 pounds (compared to 150 last year) at 5-foot-3. She says she’ll also have a better v-taper and be harder than last time, with more separation in her legs. “I'm very happy with the way I look right now,” she says. “I am a complete bodybuilder, finally. I think the fans will agree!”
Other heavyweights that we know of who are doing the USA are 2004 Masters winner Deniz Odar, who also placed 9th at the USA last year, and Mary Elizabeth Hobbs of Texas, who placed 8th last year.

Monday, July 11, 2005

Hey Everyone!!It's been awhile....BUT...My blogger problem is fixed!!!! I am back in action, LOL!!

I have had my website for about 3 years now, and have had this diary(blog) for almost as long. So many entries, and soooo many pictures....Well I finally ran out of room on the blogger server. But we are up and running again~so you guys can get your daily dose of Heather Lee, LOL!!!

Where to start????

It has been about 10 days I think...Hmmmmm.....

Well my Fourth of July was awesome....Friday we went to see War of the Worlds....What a cool movie!!! I am not a big Tom Cruise fan, but the movie itself was pretty entertaining.Good special effects and some tasteful gore, with a few really funny moments. He played his part well...It was a go-see movie, and I give it an Official Heather Lee Movie Rating of a B+. Not too shabby!!!

Elena and her husband came down that Saturday to hang out with a bunch of us~she was 4 weeks out from the USA's(now only 3), and she looked FANTASTIC!!! Just look at this shot of her back~and this was from 2 weeks ago!!! This is the best I have ever seen her look, on or offstage. I know this is going to be her show. Anyway, we BBQ'd and then we got some fireworks....you know, those whistlers, the popping ones, and the ones that just smoke a lot....We were setting them off in my yard when a cop rolls up and threatens to take us to jail....JAIL???? Over some little fireworks on the 4th of July. What a jerk. You could be nice about it and ask us to stop, but come on, threatening us with jail~a bunch of adults~soo uncalled for. So that put an end to that. But we walked downtown and got some ice cream. But not Elena...She is living vicareously thru me right now....but it's all gonna be worth it for her in a few weeks when she has that pro-card!!!

Sunday we were invited to a BBQ at our friends house, which was a great time. He is such an awesome host....That's the father of Becky~the girl I was training last year.We are talking surf and turf here, people!!!(Even though I don't eat any seafood, I can still appreciate what he is doing!) And as always it was a great time!!!

Monday, we went to go and see Land of the Dead. Now I am not a big fan of zombie movies, but I went into this with an open mind(after all, I have to get back to my movie reviews for you guys!!!) After seeing Dawn of the Dead last year, I had hope~I actually enjoyed that movie. This movie, however, did not live up to my great expectations. A little corney, a little gory, and stealing some of Dawn's ideas....It wasn't aweful like one of the movies I will review in another few paragraphs, but not thrilling. It takes home an Official Heather Lee Movie Rating of a C+. Zombie Movie Fans, you may be dissapointed.

Then Tuesday.....Tuesday was an experience...a photoshoot like no other shoot I have ever done. Remember those shots I was telling you I was going to do....Like the ones they do in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues where they paint clothes on me??? Well we did it...Me and Bianca....What a riot it was!!! It was so cool to watch the process....and so very time consuming. We started at about 12ish, and didn't get done till about 8 that night.

Bianca got 3 outfits painted on, and I got 2. They took over an hour each. The guy who did it was AMAZING!!! He had such a great eye for his art. His name is Nero, and he did incredible work!!!! Bianca went first, getting a corset with garters and thigh-highs. My first outfit was from a Boris Vallejo poster, very warrior-princess-esq....Then Bianca got a sports jersey painted on with little booty shorts and a belly ring, and then onto the last outfits....err, not really outfits though. Cats....Yes, Like leopards or cheetas or something. You have to see the shots. So....DIFFERENT. But so AWESOME!!!! Special thanks to Les, of Digital Photography, my main photographer for my site, and Nero, for the hookup with the shoot! You guys ROCK!!!!!

Then over this past weekend I went to my favorite Mexican place down the Jersey Shore, & went to another movie. Yes I am on a role people!!! But this one is a NO SEE!! Now, I went into this with very high expectations because one of my favorite actors, Michael Chicklis, who plays Vic Macky on The Shield, plays The Thing....The Fantastic 4. It wasn't very fantastic...dare I say that it sucked. It was so campy and so cheesy....I was soo dissapointed with it. It got an Official Heather Lee Movie Rating of a D-....I wish producers would stop trying to teach moral lessons in movies....just let us sit back and enjoy the 2 hours we paid to see....This is "A must not waste your money on this movie" movie.

And guess what else is coming up next week???? In fact, one week from tomorrow??? MY BIRTHDAY!!! Yes, I am going to be......gasp.......27!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost to 30 people!!! Akkk. I can't belive how fast time flies once you turn 21. It seems like it was yesterday....Oh well!!!!

Well all, I have to run....Time to go and make dinner...

I leave you with some pics to play catch up from the last 2 weeks!!!
ENJOY!!!!

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO
Heather Lee

And a token Marta shot since she couldn't go to the shoot like she was supposed to because she started her new job!!!

....Bear with me...My server on Blogger is full so I cannot post right now. We are trying to remedy this! Thanks! Heather

Hey Everyone~

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND!!!!!!!
Hope you are all enjoying your long holiday weekend...I sure am! :~)

I wanted to stop by and say hello really quickly~Elena is coming over in a few minutes and we are going to BBQ~she has to be a little strict about her BBQ choices since she is 4 weeks out from the USA's(which, in my opinion, is going to be her show!!!) But nonetheless, we will have fun!

I wanted to post some pics that go with the post I made on Friday~so you can see the transitions my body went thru. Take a look....and please, tell me what you think.

I have recieved an overwhelming amount of support since coming out with my decision. I honestly cannot believe how many women who are on the competitive circuit emailed me and told me they feel the same exact way. It is truely amazing how sad so many are with the current state of the IFBB.

I was saying somewhere that I remember the year Jennifer McVicar turned pro...I was so excited...she was beautiful, muscular, and someone that I looked at and admired. And for her to turn pro...well that was an example. Then she went to the IFBB and they didn't reward what the NPC was pushing. So they complain that they cannot market FBB'ing, yet they don't keep to the standards they set for the women to make them marketable...The 2 organizations need to get on the same page. Bottom line.

But anyway, off the rant....Thank you all for your support!!!

I was a bit apprehensive coming out with this to you all....And honestly was wondering if I should just let ride for a bit longer to see what I was feeling. Honestly, looking at everything going on with the IFBB, Olympia, etc, led me to make the decision to come out now.

With the emails I have been getting and responses on other boards, I know I am not alone in the way I feel. The difference is that I have decided to act on it. So I guess it is good for the fans to know the current state of FBB'ing is really upsetting a lot of people.

But I have until August, when my usual contest prep would start to decide if my next step will be at the Nationals in the Middleweight class, competingunder 125, or if it will be on the stage in 2006 in figure.

Whatever it may be, again, I thank you for your overwhelming support.

'Till next time,
Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO

1998, at the peak of my bikini
contest days, about 128....

1999...About 13o here, at a
fitness model search....

2000, at the MHP Model Search.
... About 130 to 133 pounds.

My first show, the NPC NJ States,
where I took the MW & Overall.
I competed at about 132, but my
offseason weight was 140 around this time.

The 2002 Junior USA's where
I also won the MW & Overall.
I competed at 131, but my offseason
weight was up to about 145-148 at this time...

The 2003 NPC USA's, where I took
2nd in the MW class, losing to Maya Stone.
I competed at 128, and was the driest I
ever was onstage. My offseason weight
about this time was 150-154....

The 2004 NPC Nationals, where I competed
at 137, the heaviest I ever competed at.
My offseason weight was 160 pounds....
I tried to come in bigger in the upper body
on the judges advice. It didn't work in my favor.

I have been going back and forth for quite sometime now with how I feel about bodybuilding....My muscularity, the extreme dieting, the extreme sacrifices....

Starting last year, when I was getting ready for the Nationals, I just felt my heart wasn't into it, at least not the way it was in prior years. I must have flip-flopped at least 15 times when I was dieting. Did I want to do the show or didn't I???? I couldn't really every convince myself that I wanted to, yet I stuck to my prep and did it. 7th place was the result.

There was a time for me back then when I looked in the mirror and I wasn't happy with the way I looked. For those of you who have ever been to my website, there is a section called transitions. Not only does it have all of my contest transitions(the week by week changes), but it has my yearly transitions....you can see how my body changed...every year from 1997 till now. And you know what...I was looking back, looking at the way I looked in 98, 99, 00....and I missed that. I missed being smaller~still muscular, but smaller. I was about 125-130 pounds back then, as opposed to being 155-160 that I was offseason now. Those were the days where I was so proud of my body, proud of the way I looked. I would wear cute little clothes to accentuate the way I looked. I would have abs all year round~there was never really a huge offseason for me. My weight would fluctuate maybe 5 pounds or so. Then I started competing. And came the offseason weight gain and post-contest rebound that, for me, would months to get rid of.

Before my bodybuilding days, I had a very very successful run in bikini contests. I was able to pay my bills by doing them....and all the while, I was training very hard. I wanted to compete in fitness, but after training with a gymnastics instructor for a year, 3 times a week, private lessons, I realized that was never to be. I was already successfully fitness modeling, working with the Michael Scott agency, and featured in Oxygen and Pump. I was also sponsored by MHP as a fitness model...then along came an opportunity. There was an early concept figure show called the Gaspari Fitness Model Search...it was the first figure show before it was really sanctioned. It was run with the 2000 NPC Suburban BBing....and I won first place, competing against about 30 girls~competitive bodybuilders, fitness girls, & normal average girls... So what then? There was no figure division even in the works. Fitness wouldn't be happening for me. So bodybuilding it was. And I did very well at it. I won the Overall at the NJ States in '01, I won the overall at the Jr. USA's in '02, and I took 2nd in the MW class at the '03 USA's....

But somewhere in between 2003 and 2004 I started losing my love for it like I said above. I flip-flopped with my motivation a few times~I had those few moments of extreme desire to do it, but then I would look in the mirror and not like what I was seeing. Sure, I love competing, but any other time during the year I wasn't really happy with the way I looked. I even had a successful run in powerlifting, where I squatted 535, benched 265, and pulled 405. I had the 13th highest squat in any powerlifting federation ever, and had the 4th best squat in 2004....but guess what...it still didn't matter. Neither did competing in Strongman. Yes, I love competing, but I need to be happy with the way I look. Happy with myself....

Why all this now? The recent "going on's" sure aren't helping. In fact, dare I use the expression "putting the nail in the coffin"??

After this whole ordeal with the Olympia being sidelined to a free show, I ask myself "Why am I making all these sacrifices, to turn pro, when there isn't even going to be a stage to compete on for pro's if things keep going the way they are?" The FBBF is a great concept, but will it work??? Who knows? Maybe it will, or maybe it won't. The future will tell. And after watching Joanna Thomas and Supersize She, I have to tell you, it really bummed me out. Plain and Simple. Unbiased. Candid. Real. It was honest, but it really just swayed me even more to not want to do this.

So what now?

I have a few choices....I will always compete, but in what is the question.

Bodybuilding?? If I do decide to step on the stage this year, it will be as a middleweight. I will weigh in under 125. And if I do, it may be my last show. I will have to see how I feel when I am there. I will have to see if competing on the bodybuilding stage does for me what it used to. Maybe I will be happier with myself under 125, and then if that is the case, I can live with the sacrifices. Or maybe it won't.

Maybe I will follow in the footsteps of Cathy Priest and Lisa Bickles and just switch over to figure. Or maybe not. I just don't know right now. I wish there was a little more substance to figure like there is over in Europe, but if this is the way it is here, I guess I will have to live with that. Whether or not I will like it will be determined when the time comes. If the time comes.

I am being very open and honest with you all.... This whole state of affairs in female bodybuilding has really gotten to me. To see something so many work so hard for and make so many sacrifices for to be tossed to the sidelines like it is just trash makes me really sad.

I will keep you updated as I make my decisions.
Thanks for reading.
